I had a Thyroidectomy for Graves disease last Feb. Upon routine pathology they found Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. It was just localized in the Thyroid. I am tested every 3 months with blood tests. They tell me this will return sometime and somewhere. Now my spleen is enlarging but they do not think this is the Lymphoma returning. I am scheduled for another CT scan in 3 months. Anyone else have this type of condition?
Thanks for your help

Hello

Thanks for posting. I am sorry about your diagnosis. But keep in mind that non-hodgkin's lymphoma is a very treatable disease. There are several different treatment options, and it seems like you are being evaluated very well.

best regards,
Leo

Hello,

Although most lymphoma cases are treatable, their treatments differ and depend on the typs of the NHL and the stage. If the disease is limited to your thyroid only and no metastasis is found in adjacent nodes or other distant organs, it is an early stage NHL. The treatment after surgery depends on the pathology. Is your disease a low grade NHL or a large B cell type?

Regards,

Jay
