Hi All,

I have a history of gastroentritis problem for about 10 years now. I do take Nexium regularly (once in 3 or 4 days). About 3 months ago I started feeling weak or drowsy (not tired). After lot of lab tests, it was found out that vitamin B12 level is low. There are no other symptoms (like nausea, weight loss, eating disorder etc.) though. My helicobacter test was negative and red blood cells are normal.
I will be going for endoscopy next week (4th October).
What I would like to know if someone else also had similar symptoms. Could this be also related with stomach cancer?
Thanks.

Yaq, I am very sorry about your gastric problems. I have no personal or professional experience with stomach cancer. Have the done any kind of imaging studies on you (x-ray, CAT scan, MRI, PET scan)? Any one of them should show a cancer if it is large enough. Each has its own size threshold. My advise is to continue to work with your medical team exploring all possibilities. Cancer is one possibility but it could be almost any where... not just your stomach.

Have they checked your thyroid function? That only takes a simple blood test to determine and thyroid insufficiency will cause you to feel weak and drowsy.

You and your medical team are in my thoughts and prayers as you try to find to cause of your drowsiness.
