Hello, well im new here. For the past few months ive been feeling very strange, and have the folkowing symptoms:
constant fatigue
Confusion
Change in mental state like "brain fog"
trouble making making sentences and forgetting words
headaches
frequent urination
strong thirst
pinprick red dots on lots of places on my skin
small wounds which seem to take a long time to heal
It got so bad one night that i went straigt to the doctor the next day. She immediatly told me i needed to go to the hospital for suspected pallpedemia (sp?). So at the hospital i went through enless amounts of tests and finally they said i had hypercalcemia, but they wernet sure whats causing it. They ruled out a brain tumour with a CT scan. Scan of my chest came out fine, no problem with my thyroid glands. Kidney scan revealed kidney stones (caused by the hypercalcemia) i also have a slightly iregular hearbeat. The doctor initially thought that its cancer causing it, but now "he thinks' that my kidneys are causing it and its no big deal. When he told me this my mum was there so i was too afraid to tell him how bad i really felt. so now i have to wait a month to see a kidney specialist. Im not convinced at all, especially as the symptoms are so bad that i cant live a normal life. Anyone have any ideas as to what going on?!
I should tell you that im 21, male, fairly fit and healthy, normal weight, eat normal food, dont smoke or do drugs, drink occasionally
Thanks so much in advance |

Hi, I am sorry about your health problems but I have no clue as to what might be causing your symptoms. My advice is to continue to work with your medical team since they are really the only ones who can diagnose you.
Good luck and keep us informed when you find out anything. _________________ Jim

Hi, Sorry about your health concerns. I agree with Brainman. Keep working with the experts and ask plenty of questions. Be honest and tell them excactly how you are feeling. Test for Diabetes? How have your moods been- down one minute and happy the next?
Keep us up to date. Thinking of you.

I'm with In. Have they done an A1C blood test to check for diabetes? I'm no doctor, but that's what it sounds like and not cancer, which they have ruled out.

Having normal glucose doesn't mean you aren't diabetic. I have normal glucose levels with quite a few of my labs, but the A1c, which gives an average of the last 90 days is elevated, showing I'm diabetic.
What are they doing about the hypercalcemia? Having high calium levels, which is an electrolite can throw everything out of kilter. _________________ Nancy

Thanks for the healp, really They arnt doing anything about it right now. I had to collect 2 days of urine and am now waiting for the results. The doc said it isent the glands (which is the main cause). He just said he can give me something for the headaches?! |

hi, i think you should ask for the diabetes test anyway. Have it thoughly checked. Then at least you can rule it out.
