|
|
Hi, firstly, please don't pounce on me if this is being asked in the wrong place, or to the wrong person...
On the left hand side of my head, I have 2 things to note...one of which is that my skull appears to be a different shape than the right hand side...just a vague sort of ridge in parts, like I bumper my head as a child or something (dont think I did!)..
The other thing is that around the same area I have what feels like a very soft, perhaps fatty layer under the skin...barely visible without actually touching it mind you, but there all the same...
Also, on the same side, I have 2 moles...they look like regular moles to me, and havent changed since I shaved my head and noticed them for the first time..
My question is, do I have anything to worry about? Do cancers and the likes appear in such a way, or should I be looking for small, hard lumps? It's been brought to my attention that fatty buildups can occur but are harmless...
Anyways, any help would be very much appreciated (so far I have avoided seeing my doctor..)
Thanks in advance,
Concerned student.. |

Hi, I think it's best to see your DR and get it looked at. My Husband has a shaved head now and the first time he found all sorts of weird things, bumps hollows, lumps and moles. Everything was normal for him- but he still had it looked at.
Just for ease of mind and worry, get it looked at.

| just realised I have a 2 inch scar on the left side of my face....didnt occur to me that this (although i 15 years ago) could have been the bump that has slightly changed the way my skull has formed.... |

Could be.
But still have the moles checked just in case. Make sure you wear sunscreen (FULL BLOCKOUT- all day, not the ones you have to re-aply). Wear hats as much as possible if out in the elements.
Enough skin care lectures.

Most people do not have exactly symmetrical head anyhow whether or not they had a childhood injury. That does not concerns me very much. The moles on the other hand do need to be checked by your doctor. Don't panic... just have them checked. Good luck. _________________ Jim
