I've researched and researched until I'm blue in the face on the symptoms I've been having and every single "list" of different possible things could be wrong with me has brain tumor listed.

I was hoping some of you who have personal experience of know someone who has had an experience with a brain tumor could provide me with some useful input.

About two months ago I had this "head in a vice" feeling accompanied with a slow feeling. It was almost as if every step I took I was mentally one step behind. Also during this time I had sharp head pains, like jolts of pain scattering through my head. Eventually, after about two-three weeks these symptoms faded and I felt fine so I didn't worry about it anymore.

Now, they are back. I'm not having the "slow" feeling but the pressure in my head is back with the sharp pains. Although this time there is a new symptom that has presented itself, my ear pop literally everytime that I swallow. I can hear fine it seems but they pop so much it's driving me insane.

I went to the doctor yesterday and besides my blood pressure being high (145/90) which I think is from the worrying of the brain tumor he thinks that the fluid in my ear and head pains are not related. I think that is kindof... stupid but that's just my opinion. They both started happening at the same time, how can they NOT be related? He checked my ears and he said he could see fluid buildup. He thinks that the head pain and tightness is from my blood pressure... I looked it up online and everywhere I read it says that constant headaches and blood pressure are rarely ever related.

Please help :( I am celebrating my daughter one year birthday this Friday and I just need some kindof answers.

Thanks in advance.

Hi tkennedy, everyone is different. Some people with brain cancer do have headaches while others don't. I am one who's brain cancer never has caused me headaches, except metaphorically speaking.

Headaches can be caused be so many different things. Your blood pressure is high for someone your age... but certainly can be explained by your heightened anxiety. I would go to an ENT (ear, nose, throat) doctor to ask him what he thinks about this fluid in your ear(s). As you said, it is logical to assume the headaches are related to this fluid since they began at or around the same time.

Good luck.

Thanks for your input :)

My uncle by marriage is a general family doctor and I'm going to be seeing him in the morning to see what he thinks.

Keep me in your prayers :)

Hi, my husband had similar headache symptoms to you and was worried as his mother has a brain tumour. he had an MRI scan which was clear. However his doctor thought the headache may be due to a sinus problem and prescribed him a nasal spray (I think beclomethasone) which has solved the problem.

suggest you go to another doctor for second opinion. please be reassured that there are many different causes of headache and that brain tumours are very rare in the general propulation.

Hi tkennedy,
Insist on getting an MRI. It is not that I think you have a tumor, but the only way to know for sure is to get scanned. You have been stressing out about it long enough. Get scanned and move on.

Hi tkennedy, I agree with everyone, the only way to be sure is to have an MRI. I recently had quite a few symptons which could have been any number of things (one being a tumour), I was very reluctant to go to Drs as my partner has GBM and I thought what would everyone think if I went there saying I thought I had one as well. But I couldn't put up with the stress of not knowing any longer so I went and had an MRI. This showed up all clear and they put it down to sinus / eye fatigue and due to my partners illness, stress. The main thing is I don't have to have one more thing to worry about. So my suggestion would always be - if in doubt get it checked out. Hope everything goes well. Love to all. Jen

thank you for the generous response guys, it's much appreciated.

i had a ct scan (without contrast) and that was fine. although, i'm still getting headache and no one is giving me answers. i'm also only 23 years old and my periods have stopped without reason...

i'm still worried mainly because i know ct scans show up better with contrast rather than without and mri are more sensitive. i hope i'm just being paranoid, but so far it is just frustrating to not have answers as to what it is that is wrong with me
