Can adhesions grow within one to two days after colon cancer surgery?

I am not sure I know the answer to your question. Adhesions are like scares. I assume they can develop rather rapidly but am not sure they can develop so soon after surgery. Excellent question for your medical team! Let us know what you find out.

The reason why I asked is because my father in law had colon cancer surgery and he had some complications. He was unable to keep any food down, they took him back in for surgery a week after the original surgery. They said my father in law was a fast healer and that adhesions had wrapped around his intestines and caused the problem not being able to hold down food.

He has never had any surgery down there before and I am suspicious if the doctor is telling the truth.

What the doctors are telling you makes sense if your father in law is a fast healer.

Nevertheless, if you still have any concerns, ask for a second opinion.
