I had that "marker" put in when I had my biopsy. It was kind of pointless, however, in my case because I had a double mastectomy a week later. Rolling Eyes They said it would help them spot the area of the biopsy in future mammograms so that they could continue to watch it. It was no big deal but like I said...pointless in my case. Just to let you know that I had the results of my core biopsy today. There are abnormal cells but these are not cancerous, what a relief.

I do however have to return for a fine wire localisation biopsy for another small area of calcifications. I have trawled through the internet to check out the procedure, some say that it entails a couple of days in hospital whilst others say its just a day care procedure. I was so flummoxed when the hospital rang me that I didn't even ask, they will send me details but I won't receive these until early next week. I shall be seeing my GP next week also and she will more than likely fill me in on the details.

Kaz, I've had two wire localized biospies and went home the same day both times. I would be surprised if they kept you overnight. Good luck. B9 thoughts, vibes and prayers, Lauri
