Wan't sure where to put this so I picked here.

I would like to make some suggestions for reorganizing the board.

First of all the lounge could be partitioned off as follows:

Proposed Forums In the Lounge Category:

Fun and Games

Introductions (new members can introduce themselves and other members can welcome them)

Greetings (birthday, anniversary, happy holidays etc)

Miscellaneous Discussions (anything not cancer related, could be serious could be just fun to discuss)

General Cancer Discussions (insurance issues, non specific medical issues as well)

It is not my intent to pop in here and begin tearing this forum apart but something needs to be done to get it active and give members a reason to return frequently. I am a member of several successful forums and there is a need for some reorganization here.

Regards,

Loren

Hi Loren,

What you are proposing is an interely new Category right?

As you know, it is not that difficult to add a new Category and forums within it. If there is enough support for your proposal, I will take this to the Cancer Forum's owner. However, it is my personal opinion the this would just dilute the Cancer Forums by increasing it to too many forums.

The problem with non-participation is not the lack of forums... it is that of the 15,000+ members we have, only a very small fraction have ever posted even one message. I truly believe they only joined because they thing that the members have access to each other's profiles and therefore can read the adds. Of those who have posted, who knows how many are still alive? And of those who are living, too many of them are in so much emotional and physical pain themselves that it is understandably hard for them to reach out to others.

Thank you for your interest in the health of this community.

I moved this topic to this forum because it does have some good ideas for the new forum.
