Hello all,
Just an update. Had my port installed last week and everything went well. I had it used once already. Much nicer than in the arm. Sent all my records and slides to MD Anderson in Texas in hopes that they may be able to get a actual diagnosis as so far nothing has been definiate. Had a rough time with first chemo but second has been better with different nausea drug. Hoping everything is going well with everyone and I keep all you in my thoughts and prayers daily. _________________ I Will Win!!

Ooohh, Tina's sporting a new port! Good for you. My husband refused a port for the longest time. Now, since getting one, he wondered why he put it off so long.
Two chemo's under your belt now is good. Did they try Zofran for the nausea? Our nurses say it depends on the person whether Kytril or Zofran will be the better of the two. Glad you felt better this time.
I hope they get down to the diagnosis soon for your sake. In the meantime, having this duo of chemo is good.
High hopes and prayers for you,

Tina:
Your story strikes a cord of great compassion in me. You are brave and have much courage. I am glad to know you have a support system around you - we all need this.
How startling to find you have cancer after only suffering from a dry cough, vomiting and dehydration. This is a bit scary to hear - as I know that I've had a dry cough (not everyday) for awhile and don't want to get neurotic thinking that I have what you have, especially when my Mom has Stage 4 lung and mets to brain.
I am so sorry to hear about your illness. I am praying for you and all others on this forum (even now) that are on this forum.
Blessings and *hugs* to you.

hello all,
It has been a while but it isnt Tina. I am writing for Tina I am her husband Eric. I wanted to catch everyone up on what has transpired since the last post. Tina's first round of chemo didn't work. The SOB's grew. We switched to a more aggressive type going 3 on and 1 off. During this with the support of family friends and Gilda's Club she has been making it. She is my hero too. I am posting a new topic though because I want to see if I can get some answers for what she is going through now so please help if you can her kids and I would like to have her come home from the hospital. Her digestive system has shut down. Thank you also for the thoughts and prayers. We likewise have a list of many of you that we pray for.
Thanx

Eric-
I responded to your other post too. I don't have any answers for you. I just want you to know that I pray you and your wife experience grace and strength during this time. Of course you want Tina to come home with you an d your children. I am sure she wants to be with you too.
I am sorry to hear that the treatment did not work for her. I pray for her healing, knowing that God is able.
Blessings of peace and goodness to you,

Eric,
Likewise, I am sending good thoughts and prayers for some resolve for your hero Tina. This cancer is a SOB, and I hope she can get back onto another chemo regimen that will work once this other issue is over.
Please give our warmest thoughts and hugs to her.

|
|
I am writing with a very heavy heart. My wife and our kids mom Tina passed on Tueday the 11th of December. The complications had been too much. She coded at around 9:00am and due to not having a heary monitor to alert anyone she went without pulse or are for approximately 8 minutes. They were able to survive her but she was on a ventilator and with all the medication couldn't get her blood pressure over 60/30. before it started to drop. By 5:00 it dropped too low and was decided by family to let her go. i wanted to thank all of you for your kind words of support for her an I through this short fight with cancer. Things that i have learned is that you need to be informed about the side effects of the chemo they can by worse than the cancer at times and also to appreciate everyday that you have with your loved one. Going along with Mitch album's book one more day, I am already wishing that I could have that one more day to say all that I didn't and just spend a day holding her.
Bless you all

Eric,
My heartfelt sympathy to you and the kids. I'm sure you are in a stunned, shocked mode right now, so there is nothing I can tell you that will console your grieving heart. She was far too young and went so quickly.
Please try not to have regrets, we all wish we could have known and had more time to say the things that are in our hearts. Trust me, Tina knew your love right until the end.
Prayers for strength and comfort to get through the upcoming days.

Eric,
I lost my wife to nsclc stage4 on Dec 3rd. Each of us are different but I think I know your pain right now. Don't look back at the coulda woulda shoulda. Regret is a cancer that dulls the brain and eats at your heart. I expect your wife would tell you to get on with it and not regret the things not done, not said. Women are way more practical, and possibly emotionally stronger, than men. So hang in there one day at a time. You and yours are in the thoughts and prayers of many, including myself.

Eric
My deepest sympathy on the passing of Tina. She really fought hard, and is a brave soul that will look over you and the children. Her passing must be so devastating to such young children. I am 39 and lost my mom in Oct. and I am still grieving horribly. My prayers are with you as you guide yourself and your children through this very difficult time. _________________ mommysgirl
