My mother just died 4 days ago of stage 4 metastatic cancer. They gave her approx 7 months and she only made it 2 months. I am having a terrible time with losing her. I miss her so much. Yes I know it was only 4 days ago, but I dont know how I can cope with this. Lookingfor someone to talk too.
I found this site and was hoping to find others who are going thru the same thing and could understand what I am going thru here. Not many seem to understand, ya know? Just looking for some support and to also be able to help others going thru the same thing themselves.
I have to go back to work on Monday and just dont know how I am going to do that. ........I have no desire to go back even though I know I must, but I just want to be alone. But I have a 13 yr old son, who really helps me with this. He's a great kid.
Hope someone can help me here.

Hi ang,
I am so sorry about your mother's death! My mother died of a brain cancer (GBM) about 9 years ago and my father died of leukemia Sept 2006 so I definitaly can sympathize with your loss. You have come to the right place for support! I have found this community to be wounderful in stretching open arms to others impacted by cancer. I know others will respond too.
I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. _________________ Jim

Today is my mother's funeral service . It is taking everything I have to get myself going this morning.
Brainman: Thank you for your support and I look forward to any advice anyone from here can give me to help me thru this loss. I am so sorry for your loss also. Losing both parents has got to be very hard for you. My mother and father divorced before I was born, so its just been my mother and I. And I am an only child, so I am going thru this all alone. If you as well ever need to talk,I will be happy to listen and help all I can.
Thank you so much. |

It was best I did get back to work. It took my mind off of it some. It was hard for a long time. I would run to the Ladies Room and cry..I am sure they would want us to go on.
God Bless You Honey

I know what you mean. I have gone back to work and it does take my mind off some but many times of running to the bathroom to cry.
I'm sure in time it will get better. It was hard that her birthday was just last week, one week after her death. I just keep telling myself that she is with god and not in pain anymore. Thats whats best.
Thank you for your kind words.

| {{{hugs}}} to you butterfly grl..I'm so sorry about your mom. With time, you'll be able to think about your memories with her with out the grief. Going to work is theraputic, it will help distract you. I'm hoping to be strong when my dad's time comes. I'm making the most of my time with him right now. |
