Are you talking about the cancer spreading to other areas or someone getting dx with a new primary after having been dx previously with another kind? Any cancer can return to other parts of the body in an organ(s) or bone(s)

I guess i wanted any advice, OR, information. I was confused how After having Cancer and having opp etc etc, and been cleared for 4 years. That It can come back via new primary.

I guess I'm just stewing about it and have no idea what i'm up against... I just asumed that after having it removed, treatment and being cleared. After so long- That would be it. I never thought/told, it could come back else where.

sorry, if that doesn't make much sense.

Hi,

Yes, unfortunately, it can come back anytime and anywhere. Did your onco say it was a new primary or that the Ovarian cancer has come back somewhere else. Where was the cancer found?

It's been almost 5 1/2 years since I was dx with Stage III Breast cancer and even though hitting the 5 year mark is a great thing, and the chances are reduced that it will come back, it definitely can.

I have posted a "my Story " in other cancers forum. - It was cervical cnacer (C4). The onco has said nothing other that to have a ultrasound (scan) of the mass, under the armpit/breast side. Then a needle biopsy

I surpose it could be something stupid like a cyst or something. But it was when she said "could be secondery cancer" was when i started looking it up here and else where. I didn't ask any questions- i was in shock and just said, ummm, ok.

Thank you for replying to me, I apprieate it. And I'm sorry, but very glad you are doing well.

thanks again In.

I personally wouldn't have a needle biopsy. They aren't always accurate. Have the mass removed is virtually painless when they do the surgery (I mean after you wake up) and it's accurate because they send all of the mass to pathology. With a needle biopsy, unless they get lucky and take a sample for a place where there are actually cancer cells, you could get a false negative.

Keep us posted.
