Hi friends, I think that it is very difficult to get to the truth but it is important to try and to be aware with MM. Although life span varies for individuals with MM, it is a cancer that is incurable. Treatment will have have varying results depending on range of factors, such as how early one is diagnosed and general health of individual. I changed my lifestyle when diagnosed, became vegetarian, drink lots of water, no sugar or alchohol, excercise (yoga is good). I take supplements which I have researched on internet - I have a science background and was confident to do this. I have remained stable for 2 years - maybe I am lucky, but my doctors are very surprised because my results are high! If my health took a turn for the worst I would continue with my regime as it does no harm and is a healthy diet and lifestyle. all the best. _________________ I am a women of 55yrs, recently diagnosed with multiple myeloma, for which I lost my job and nobody wants to employ me! Refused chemo and have surprised doctors by remaining stable for two years using vitamins, herbs, supplements and veggie diet. Would like to share my experiences and learn more from experience of others. |

Hi cazy,
I just wanted to welcome you to the forums and to say thank you for posting about MM. My ex-father-in-law, who I dearly loved and admired, did of MM over 10 years ago. It is a very difficult cancer to live with but so few people ever post to this thread.
I am also the person who spit off your post from its original thread. I hope you don't mind. I just think your message need more attention than it would get as a responce to a thread that was last posted to in July 2005. You can always change the name if you do not like the one I gave it.
Thank you again. _________________ Jim

Hi Crazy,
I too was like you not really wanting to go down the chemo road, but when i ended up with a plasmycytoma ( I think that is how it is spelt) in Dec. o6 and had spinal cord decompression. My treatment has been on going now for 8mths, Vad for 3mths which is chemo which did not work, stem cell harvest and that did not go smooth either but the finally got them. They are on freeze for when i need them and the next step is a trial on Lenildamide, which starts in a couple of weeks.
So i hope your MM smolders for a long time and you never have to make any decisions on treatments becase it is scary, but as a person on this forum said to me you do nothing you die and it is funny because when you are faced with it survival mode kicks in.
Love Shaz |

Hi Cazy,
I hope you are well..
I was interested to read your post. I am a 67 year old woman and was diagnosed with MM just over a year ago I had a plasma cytoma 3 years ago which was treated with radiation therapy. And another one was diagnosed last july. Since the MM diagnosis I have refused orthodox treatments apart from one monthly biphosphonate drip. My doctor has been recommending chemotheraphy but I dont want to do this because like yourself I believe in getting my immune system up to strength. You mentioned in your post that you had been taking supplements, and I was hoping that you might be able to give some more information about them. For example, what you have been taking and in what daily amounts. I live in Japan and it has been very difficult to get any information about alternative treatments. Any information you could give me would be very much appreciated...
Thank you very much
