Hi all . I am new here. I have a strange story. I'll keep it as short as I can. Over a year ago I got sick. I had very swollen neck lymph nodes, low grade fevers and night sweats. ENT removed node to biopsy. The initial pathology reort said it was reactive but see notes. The notes said it was at first worrisome for marginal zone b cell lymphoma. But final analysis was reactive. The ENT told me he was shocked that the node definately appreared to be malignant. So we sent it to The City of Hope for a second opinion. It came back as reactive.
Immediately following the biopsy I got even worse. Now with all over body pain. Dizziness, chest pain and palps. After so many docs I was dx with fibromyalgia, cfids, mitral valve prolapse and hashimoto's thyroiditis. But nothing has brought me comfort or relieved my symptoms.
Now I woke up last week with a swollen lymph node behind my left ear, behind my neck and a bean feeling above my collar bone.
I see an ENT next Monday and an oncologist for evalu in May.
My questions are this...
Has anyone else had a biopsy come back clean only to later have cancer? Does the collar bone lymph node have to be golf ball tize to be a conern? Or should I take even consider it a problem at this point? The collar bone area is slightly puffy and I can feel a bean shaped hard node I guess that I can move. Is this even considered a swollen lymph node?
ANyone opinions would be appreciated. I have not lost weight. But have had low grade fevers for over a year and the night sweats are really bad. Lately almosy every night. My OBGYN said he doubts perimenopause would be the cause of the night sweats as I am on the pill.

Please help anyone!!!!!

Thanks, Deena

Well, today underneath the swollen area on my collarbone I can feel a marble size node. It is actually starting to make my shoulder sore. Now that I think about it I have had shoulder pain in that shoulder for some time. I have no idea what to think.

Anybody???

Hi, Deena,

I am sorry to read about your worries and troubles. It is a very good thing you are seeing a doctor and I understand completely how afraid you must be right now. Two small pieces of advice: take a list of symptoms/frequency/severity, etc. with you to the appointment. This way you won't experience the "oh, crud, I forgot to mention . . ." after you leave. You go away from the appointment knowing you have told the doctor as much as you know from your end of the ailment.

Also, be sure to bring someone with you who can take notes on what the doctor says. It helps to have another person there, listening too to the doctor. If at all possible, I would recommend a friend rather than a family member if possible. Family (at least in my case even when I am not ill Smile ) tend to be a bit too emotional.

Try as much as you can to keep focused on the happy things in your life; I know that sounds crazy when you have been reading people's stories on this forum and finding similar symptoms to those you are experiencing.

Hang in there; I am so glad you made your way to this cyber-community. It has many folks who are caring, thoughtful and supportive.

Please, keep me posted on how things go.

Wishing you the very best of health,
Jessica

Deena,
I'm sorry for the trouble you seem to be going through. I'm not really sure what might be going on. City of Hope is a good hospital and I'm glad you got a 2nd opinion. With your continued symptoms one wonders about a possible infection, autoimmune disorder or cancer. Continue working with your doctors to find a source of the problems. Good luck.
