dr leo, or anyone with experience..

i had left mastectomy 9/2003. reconstruction, tissue expander, exchange surgery with silicone implant.

all went reasonably well:,i had dcis,two locations,stage 0, er+

i'm postmenopausal, on arimidex.

i've developed axillary, down the underside of the arm pain...both sides. mast side worse than right. i know this is weird but if feels like the glands are being "squeezed"-a milder version of the parotid gland with sour food response.
to complicate matters, i was dx with MS 10/04. i'm trying to sort out what this could be.

my muscle relaxers help little: vicodin works.

i'm worried. i go back to the onco 1/12.
any ideas? (my thyroid shoud be fine)

thanks.

Hi,
I'm not sure what to tell you except tell the onco what you're telling us when you see him/her Wednesday. I had all my lymph nodes removed and will always have a numby feeling and in one place sore but I'm assuming you had a SNB instead of having all yours removed with your early dx.
I know I was no help at all but I'm glad you're going next week and the onco will check the area out. Let us know what you find out.
Hugs
Nancy

gosh you have a plate-load to deal with right now. I can't answer your queston either, but your onc. appointment is not that far away. He/she may have some answers. I had a bunch of nodes removed as opposed to SNB, and like Nancy have a numb area under my arm. But, I get twingy pains in my arm pit that I assume are nerves still looking for connections. Hope you get some answers from your onc. Please let us know what you find out. Hugs, Lauri

ok...well to me it feels like I have razor burn all the time...I had all nodes removed under the right arm and a SN biopsy on the left but both feel like they have razor burn...but it's only been a month so maybe it'll get better. I don't really have any other pain just sort of a numbness. Let us know what you find out.

Hello

Very very common to develop some discomfort or numbness after breast surgery, especially if you had lymphnodes removed. As the ladies above mentioned, it's good that you are being seen. There are certain things that can happen, such as abscesses or seromas, and I'm sure your doctor will look for that.

best regards,
Leo
