Hello, Vlahos - can I suggest you post this in the Brain Cancer Forum - you will be more likely to find someone there.

Hi Vlahos
My husband is 37 and has just started taken Temodal (same regime as you) for a brain tumour. He has been told sucess rate is 60-70% for his type of tumour, I believe it seems to work best for gliomas. Hang in there and stay positive, a friend recently told us he had read that you need to picture in your mind the drug attacting the tumour cells (like space invaders) apparantly it also can help if you actually play attacking type games, who knows? It might make you chuckle if nothing else!
Take care of yourself (I have also posted a comment in the brain cancer forum which you may like to read).

Well I am no expert and my husband has only completed one month but so far he has had very little in the way of side effects. They say nausea is common although he has not needed to take his anti nausea medication they also mention tiredness but he tends to have that anyway through taking the anti-convulsants. Other than that side effects could cause fertility issues as you are probably aware so I sent him off to the sperm bank just to be on the safe side!!! Hows that for optimism. Feel free to email me if I can answer any further queries you might have.

Hi, my husband is 39 and this is second time to rid himself of a brain tumor. First time was 7 years ago, surgery, rad, & chemo. This time just temodal. He has finished his 2nd treatment and visits Dr again April 30. His Dr will not do another MRI until he has had 3 treatments.

Dan is extremely tired, but has been for 7 years due to seizure meds and working full time for 4 yeas as Truck Mechanic until Feb of this year.

He had no reactions at all the first time around, 2nd time he vomited the next morning after his first dose the night before. Dan also takes 8mg of Novo-Ondansetron a 1/2 hour before the Temodal to prevent vomiting and nausea. Seems to be working other than that one time. Dan also does not take on an empty stomache. He eats a little something when he takes the Novo-Ondansetron, which he forgot to eat when he took his first dose the 2nd time, but has eaten the next 4 nights and was fine, could be coincidence!!

I wish you well and God Bless.
