Anyone have any experience of Germ Cell tumors in the brain?

Hello Happy,


My wife was diagnosed with a orange sized Dysgerminoma last March. She had it resected/debulked by Dr. Moradi in Houston. He is based out of Memorial Hermann hospital but does work with MD Anderson.

She then underwent a month of radiation which has rendered her cancer free for more than 6 months now. Her particular type of germ cell cancer was highly radio sensative, which is good news. From my extensive research on this, it is highly uncommon for germ cell tumors to be primary to the brain, espcially for adults (she was 26 at diagnosis).

Is there something specific you wanted to ask?

There wasn't anything specific I wanted to ask

I have also been told Germinoma's respond very well to chemo and Radiotheapy

Did you wife have chemo as well?

No chemo, just radiation. It did respond very well to the radiation, she has been cancer free for over 6 months now.
