I have never been so worried in my life. My mom who is 73 (and smoked heavily for 40 years thoug quit 15 yrs ago) had a walking pnemonia and prior to that had a terrible cough. A chest x ray and CT scan showed a lung mass. My mom has other benign masses in her body as well as other ailments which could explain the cough (asthma and sinus infection). The radiogist believes the mass is either carcinoma or lymphoma. Mom went for a biopsy and we are waiting for the results. In light of the fact that mom has other benign tumors, she believes (or so she says) that the mass on her lung is benign. I did some research and see that most masses are malignant and that a benign mass is rare. Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks so much.

Sorry for lack of replies. Do you have the results yet? Hopefully it was not cancer, but if it was please continue to post here if it helps.
Take care,

Dear worriedson
You are right most tumours in lungs are malignant.
My husband was diagnosed with tumours in the lungs & spine end of last year. His condition is stable now and is on the road to complete recovery. We did not opt for chemo-therapy suggested by the doc.
He is on "metabolic therapy", an alternative to the conventional therapy.
Do start your mom on the "Budwig Diet" and "Mangosteen Juice".
You can search the internet to find out more.

Take care!

I am glad to hear that the alternate methods are working for your husband but I have to say that without the traditional chemo and radiation, I have no doubt that we would have lost my dad a year or more ago. Right now he is on his second round of chemo and still fighting and doing well. Diagnosed 10/04.
I would hate to see people decline the proven treatments in favor of these alternative methods.

It will be wise if you can also combine the conventional treatments with supplements proven to fight or cure cancer. This will also reduce the side effects of chemo & radio.
Note that chemo & radio ARE NOT proven treatments. According to Oncologists, advanced-stage cancers are incurable. Yes, one cannot be cured if you subject yourself to these "conventional" treatments.

What oncologists? What cancers? How are chemo and rads NOT PROVEN? Thousands upon thousands of studies have been done with every chemo and radiation regimen that this currently offered as treatment. So they may not cure everyone but they give people a fighting chance.

And what supplements "cure cancer?" Which ones would you suggest? Who can I make the check out to? This is fascinating. . . all of this hard work in the research lab, and clinical trails and losing most of my family to cancer and there is a cure I did not know about??? I am not saying that supplements cannot be studied and understood and modified into treatments, but most of the evidence surrounding them are testimonials from people who are lying or are very rare cases of success. Most alternative therapies (especially the cures you can buy on the internet) are just a waste of money. But if it does not physically hurt the patient and if it helps them sleep better at night, by all means.

Please, tell us more. . .

I agree with you Isadella. My friend at work lost his wife to cervical cancer. It had already metastisized to her hip when they found it. Our first aid salesman must have sold him 1000.00 worth of vitamins to try to cure her. Crap. Thats what it was, preying on people in their most vulnerable time.
