Im Andy, i posted a brief message before..my dad passed away 14th december after a long battle with lung cancer and secondary bone cancer. He was scottish, brave and valiant through and through.
Id like to share this poem i read at his funeral...my dad gave me the strength to read this, the hardest thing.
Chasing tommorows sun, dreaming of years ahead
father and son, a park by a city
walking hand in hand, strolling on past monuments and trees
oxygen of the city fills our lungs with the sunlight kiss, promise of a good life
As we travel on, laughter and stories you would share
teaching me, giving inspiration and i look up to you...
nothing this day or the next really mattered..but this walk with you
that one snapshot in time
will never fade....
now reality comes through and evening enters the frame
im left lonely, cold and ashamed
forced now to walk the earth alone...
but i must be strong, face mistakes that haunt me
grow up and be the man
forfill the promise id shown you as a child,
not empty, make my daddy proud
one day we will talk and we`ll share those stories again...
when i join you loving dad, in that diamond sky
untill then...sleep well/ smile. xx
Thanks for reading. _________________ Time is a virtue, spend it wisely. |

Dear Andy,
Please accept my hearty condolences over the death of your father. I understand how you must be feeling right now... Reading the poem and your signature, I can perceive how kindly and wisely your dad has raised you and I'm sure you'll always be the man he's wanted you to be. Currently my mom's fighting Xtensive liver cancer... Just pray she makes it... the prognosis is not very good. Anyways, this is what they call "life".
That poem's amazing... The relationship between a dad and his son cannot be Xpressed in words. Best of luck to you in your future endeavours.
Regards,
