I have read several articles about the benefits of eating these. Some say to eat it raw, others say cooked and you will get more out of it. Also, I have read that in Mexico where people eat so much tomato sauces that not many Mexicans get PC. Is this just a ploy from companies wanting to sell the extract in pill form. Seems like I read about the low rate in PC in Mexico on CNN's health section. Has anyone had any luck or failures with it. I did a search in the forum for threads on it but found none.

Lifestyle improvements, diet and exercise you mentioned are a very good idea.
While it has not been conclusively proven that lifestyle changes can prevent PC, there is a lot of evidence to suggest positive benefits, and they are certainly of benefit to overall health.

Dr Lee Nelson in his book on PC covers diagnosis, treatments, and provides a lot of information on diet, nutrition and supplements.
He mentiones antioxidants (green tea, black tea, VC, VD, lycopene (tomatoes tomato sauce, strawberries) crucifer vegetables (brocoli cabbage) soy etc.

He also points out that men in Japan and Asian countries have a lot less PC than those in USA where a high calorie diet is one culprit.
