I just went to a walk in clinic and had a blood test. It was the standard, CBC, Lipid, Hepatic Function and PSA. All this cost $101.( didn't have to go to a DR. app. just walk in the am and pick up results after lunch,simple and fast) I did not know about the F PSA test until reading about it here. I'm thinking about going back next week and asking for a F PSA test. Is this test more expensive? My problem is that my PSA has always been way less than .5 until about 1.5 years ago. The test went to .65 and this week tested at .70. I'm almost 55 yo. My wife tells me I am just being paranoid and I hope she is right. Several of my friends and a third cousin have all just had PC. That in itself puts me on edge. I am scheduled for a complete phy. in about 3 months. Also, the reason I went to a clinic was that I am starting an exercise program and dieting. I wanted to see how I stood on cholesterol and all those things and re-test in about 6 months to see if there was improvement. I just was not expecting to see the PSA creeping up. All my test were in normal range but could be better. I read some reports on the F PSA from several years back. It sound very promising.
