My dad was just diagnosed with Stage IV stomach cancer 3 weeks ago. They are not doing surgery and he is starting radiation this week with a chemo 'boost'. I live 250 miles away from my dad so I can't go to any of his appts to ask questions. I emailed his oncologist and she was very cold and not compassionate at all in her response. I told her thanks for nothing and I will look for some answers online. Does anyone know about this chemo boost. They are saying he has 9-12 months but he is already so weak and thin and he has a bad heart also that I just don't know how long he will be able to take the treatment. He actually thinks he is going to beat this with chemo/rad and that is why they are not operating because he 'wants a stomach when he beats this'. I know a positive attitude is essential but do you think they are giving him false hope?
