I'm 6 months pregnant and at my last doctor appointment I asked my doctor about something strange that was going on with my tongue. It looks as if my tongue is deteriorating. It no longer has a perfect round tongue shape and it the surface of the tongue looks like "geographic tongue" with red sensitive areas and white swirls. It's been like this for at least 6 months, progressively getting worse. So my ob says it looks like I have a tumor on the end of my tongue and need to see a specialist. I have to go to my PCP first to get the refererral and he says it doesn't look like a tumor to him, rather he thinks it might be a sign of Luekemia. He does a CBC and it comes back normal. Now I'm just waiting to see the specialist on Thursday to see what he says. I'm frightened. Has anyone ever heard of these types of tongue problems being a sign of Luekemia?
