His last treatment is tomorrow then he will get an MRI on July the 6th. If the tumor has shrunk then they will be able to remove it. The doctors don't think it has but I am still holding on to hope. He will be getting a PET scan soon as well.

He wants to stop taking all his meds to see if this helps the sweats that he has and to see if it will make him feel any better. We told him he would have to come off of everything slowley and he thinks he can't just come off of them. He will talk to his doctor about this tomorrow and also his hospic nurse.

About the sweats do you no what could be done to help this? He sweats all the time and has to change his close often. He can't sleep cause he's so cold but sweats very bad. What does the sweats mean? Could anyone help us find out something about this please? Thanks

Christah,

I'm sorry no one replied faster. I am very new to this situation and do not know about sweating. What kind of chemo is your dad on? Did you get a chance to ask the doctor or the hospice nurse about his sweating and coming off of his medications?

I found this little blurb about sweating on the American Cancer Society website:

http://www.cancer.org/docroot/MBC/content/MBC_2_3X_Sweating.asp?sitearea=MBC

As with most other chemo side effects it seems like there's not much to do besides ensuring the patient's cleanliness and comfort.

I have yet to investigate other cancer forums, but if I come across one that seems more active than this one, I will surely post it here.

I'm sorry you're so overwhelmed. My father is also very ill and it is very difficult.

Sorry You haven't recvd more replies. I know just what you mean. I have found this forum to be less than supportive yet I know that we are all struggling. Somedays it is all I can do to take care of my family let alone anyone else. It is hard though when you see the number of times your post has been read and then a big fat zero under # of replies. I guess I expected more. I hadn't seen your post on Father's day - I looked specifically that day as we found this holiday so difficult I was searching for someone else to help through- sorry I missed yours. reenie
