Good morning listmembers, I was just thinking about a passing comment my surgeon made last month when reviewing my pathology report. He said that all of my axillary lymph nodes felt hard, like small jelly beans, where most are usually somewhat squishy. Sine I had 18+/23 on left side and 16+/16 on right I assumed that the hardness was the result of the lymph nodes containing the cancer cells. Does anyone think there is some relevance to hard vs. soft cancerous lymph nodes? Just curious, Jan M

Hi Jan,
I wish I could help you on this one, but I can't. The only thing I know is on my path report, it stated that I was N1, which meant (I think, it's been almost 3 years, thank God) that they were cancerous, but not clumped together, they were individual still and it also told the range of size of the cancerous nodes.
I'm sure Leo or one of the other ladies can help you more then me, but I wanted to share what I knew and I had 9+/16, so I had quite a few too.
Keep us posted on how you're doing and you'll be in my prayers as everyone else I've met on the board. Ya'll are the best!!

Oh, wanted everyone to know, because I just found out. For me, it's easier to have my info about dx, stage, treatment etc. on each of my e-mails incase someone else is dx Stage III and they can see my progress and I think it would be great if everyone did that, so when questions were asked, we could read the bio and remember what's been done so far. Chemo might not reach your brain, but it can sure make you feel DUH at times when it comes to remember. Just go into "profile" and scroll down and at the end, there is a place for a "signature line"
Hugs

Nancy,

Thanks for your reply and the signature suggestion. I think it is a good idea too and have given it a try. I may need to make it look neater, I'll see after this post.
