Hi guys,

I started on my gemcitabine + oxaliplatin (GEMOX) chemo 6 days ago for my HCC (with lung mets). The side effects are giving me a hard time.

I get some relief from the daily fever with paracetamol (though I can't take too much since it's "bad" for my liver). And the pain in my lower chest I can deal with somewhat.

But what's troubling me the most is the stomach bloating and pain. The antacid (magnesium-carbonate) prescribed by my doctor doesn't seem to work too well. I feel a lot of pressure in my abs (particularly my stomach) constantly and this is affecting my appetite, sleep and life (can't even stand straight cause my back muscles can't seem to support the heavier abdomen).

So was wondering if anyone has any suggestions to help me with this problem?

Thanks.

Try simethicone (anti-gas) in addition to the antacid.
