I need some help dealing with the fact that my grandma was diagnosed with esophagus cancer on Wednesday. My mother still hasn't told me, my uncle has. I don't know if she is just trying not to upset me. I am 27 years old and they still think I am 15. She has lost 10 pounds because she can't swollow anything. She went for a consultaion with a doctor on Tuesday and Wednesday they did the test where they put the camera down the throat and did a biopsy. We got the results that day and it was cancer. I have so many emotions. I am angry because my mother won't tell me. Maybe she just hasn't come to grips with it herself. I am very depressed, me and my grandma are very close, and I am confused. I researched some stuff on the internet and it said that when it is diagnosed the prognoses isn't good. I was hoping that somebody here would be able to give me a little hope and tell me just how long other have lived with this or any survival stories.
I am getting married next year and I need my grandma there.
Thank You Sad

My grandma is getting surgery on Monday. My mom has finally told me. She is having part of her esophagus removed and then the other part reattached to her stomach. The Doctor also said that the cancer is in her lymph nodes so she will have to have chemo. Can somebody PLEASE tell me if this is what usually happens??????? I have had 57 views but nobody has written back PLEASE somebody answer if you can any of my questions. I am very confused......

Thanks
