| Hi just a quick questions. If cancer has metastised to the lymph nodes what will they feel like. I seem to have enlarged nodes behind the left collar bone although not very large at all less than 1cm. However I can feel them on the left hand side and not on the right. |

first of all, not all enlarged nodes are caused by cancer. no matter what is the cause, enlarged nodes may cause pain, pressure, discomfort, or no symptoms at all.
you should talk to your physician to find out what is the cause of the enlarged node(s).
good luck,
jay

Hello
Usually lymphnodes affected by cancer lose that "rubbery" quality. They become very hard, not necessarily tender. They may also become fixed and no longer mobile.
best regards,

It is definately a good idea to have the lump checked out. I failed to have the lump in my neck checked for 8 months and when I finaly was smart enough to go in, I was diagnosed with stage 3-B Hodgkins. It pays to error on the side of caution and get it checked.
I wish you the best. Good luck... |
