Hi All,

First, thanks in advance for any replies. A few weeks back I noticed a golf ball size hard lump on the inside part of my knee. At first I didnt think much of it but now I'm really starting to worry. I went to the doctor today and she's not sure what it is so I went and got an xray done. I'll have the results tomorrow. At first she thought it was part of my bone but then said it did seem to move a little. I kept asking her if she thought it was bone tumor but she said she couldn't tell without the xrays. She did say that malignant bone cancer doesn't look like this. It's usally in the bone and is found by fractures. It doesnt hurt so I'm not sure what to think. Everything I read about bone cyst usally happen with younger people. I'm a male in my late 30's. Can someone please give me some insight. Has anyone else had this same experience. One last thing, I've had stronger fowel smelling, and cloudy urine. Does this mean anything?

Dear Shooter,

Please tell your doctor about the abnormal urine. Could be a bladder infection. Bladder infection can lead to kidney infection. Doctor will want a urine sample to send for culture and to find out what medicine will cure the infection (if that is what it is). Do not let the doctor prescribe antibiotics until you have given a sample for culture and drug sensitivity. When you have given the sample the doctor may start you on an antibiotic because the C/S takes a couple of days to do.

Please let us know diagnosis for lump on knee.

Good luck,

Val

Hi Val and others,

Thanks for the reply. My doctor reviewed the xray and thinks it's a fibroma. I have an MRI scheduled for Monday the 10th so hopefully they'll be able to tell more. I've read that most fibromas are benign and if malignant they usally don't spread. How true is this and how concerned should I be? Also, if they say they want to do a biopsy before surgery should I let them? I've also read that if they take a biopsy that the cells could get out into the blood stream and travel. I want this fibroma out first then they can check to see if it's cancerous. Am I over reacting?

Sincerely,
