A close friend of mine has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. We are all going through a very hard time right now, and we want to find ways to support even when we can't be there. Does anyone know of different everyday products which donate to breast cancer research? We all have to get these items anyway, and I would prefer to have part of the proceeds go towards the cause.
Thanks-
Anna

Hello Anna,

First, let me express my sympathy in the news about your friend. It can be very difficult to deal with, but it is wonderful that your friend has a good support structure in you and that you are looking for alternative ways to help her! I went through a similar situation when my sister was diagnosed.

I know of a few products which donate a portion of their proceeds to breast cancer research, treatment, and screenings.

lean cuisine has entrees which are marked w/the pink ribbon www.leancuisine.com, Orawave makes an inexpensive electric toothbrush with 10% of proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen Foundation www.orawave.com, and Yoplait has a "pink lids" promotion which you mail back into the company.

There are several other products which donate to breast cancer research. Many of them can be found on the web or on different sponsored sites.

I wish the best to you and your friend, hang in there, and please let us know if there is anything we can do for you in the time being.

Paula T.
