Can anyone with experience give me an idea about the quality of life after Whipple surgery? It will be relative to a low density mass located at the pancreatic head.

Hello,

I had my Whipple done almost a year ago. The surgery itself went OK, I spent 10 days in the hospital, another 3.5 weeks at home before returning to work. Some days are better than others, but overall my experience was not bad and the quality of life is almost as good as before. I have no formal dietary or physical restrictions, but I do watch what and how much I eat and drink. I returned to my regular exercise routine that includes biking, cardio and free weights. It took about 6 months to return to the previous levels of strength and energy, but I feel fine physically now.

Hope it answers your question. Please let me know if you have others.

Good luck,

Serguei
