Tomorrow is my last chemo cycle of four,my question is what next ?

Do they do a test to see if all cancer cells are gone? .

I will be taking tamoxifen for 2 years and then aromatase for 3 years, but how soon after chemo is done ?

I am still injecting neupogen in this last cycle ,am maintaining any aches and pains with tylenol 12 hour release, works well .

I'll be glad to get my taste buds back ,seems to be the worst of this chemo experience . Everything has a chemical taste

Hi Ann,

Very likely by this time you will know what is next since you are probably receiving your last treatment now and having that question answered by your own medical team. I would assume that you will have post treatment tests on a periodic basis but at an ever increasing span of time. At least that is how it was and still is for me. At first, I was having an MRI every 2 months... then every 3 months... then 6... and now every 9 months. It is also possible that in your case there will be some additional treatment of some kind depending on what they find at your first post treatment followup.

I do hope that everything is going will with you today. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I leave in a hour to go to chemo ,will ask the chemo tech in charge but more likely my personal doctor might know more quickly as my cancer doctor is in another province of Canada . I have to fly to go see her ,lol so my personal doctor makes sure he follows her protocol for my chemo treatment here in the Yukon Territory.

Because of our population size for the whole territory which I recently heard was 32,00+ (we're between the size of texas and alaska ),we are soon to get a digital mammography machine which will speed up the diagnosis for breast cancer here.

We are also seeking funds to update our surgical units .All other more advanced surgical procedures and tests are done a flight away in British Columbia.

Thank you for all the answers and prayers ,I'll stay in touch in prayers and contact ..Ann
