Hi everyone.

My Father In Law was recently diagnosed with hcc liver cancer. It came as a complete shock, as most times it does. He does not have hepititis or currirous of the liver which makes it even more confusing to all of us.

He was lucky to begin Nexavar chemo pill within a week. On his second dose he began having chest pains. It was discovered that he had a mild heart attack and the drs determined it was not related to the Nexavar treatments but possibly due to his low red blood cell count. He is going to begin the Nexavar again tomorrow.

I am hoping someone can share some input on what to expect through this process as we are all very new to the idea and trying to deal the best we can.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Hi Melissa

So sorry to hear about yr FIL diagnosed with Liver cancer. My prayers & thoughts are with you at this time.
I am not familiar with this type of cancer, but wanted to welcome you & offer my support.
Very good that chemo was started straight away though & after the hiccup with the red blood cells I hope your FIL is feeling comfortable & well with his current treatment.
I'm sure you will receive answers/support from a more knowledgeable person on this thread.
Keep positive, look forward & stay united throughout this "journey".

Cheers, Angie.
