My stepmother beat esophageal cancer last fall - after the treaytment and before surgery there was no trace of any cancer!

Unfortunately, they recently found a tumor in her liver and two small spots on each lung...this round of treatments is not going well. Now she's in the hospital and the doctors aren't really saying anything?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Diana, I am very sorry about your stepmother's advanced cancer. I really have no specific information for you but if you have any specific questions, I will be glad to try to help you find answers to them.

You and your mother are in my thoughts and prayers. Keep us updated.

Dear Jim,

Thank you for the reply. I live out of town and have a trip planned in a few weeks but I'm second guessing. She's been hospitalized with bloating and general weakness - she's also on oxygen. From what I'm told she's eating well. It's stage 4 cancer, I know, but what to expect? How much time? It was esophageal but now this? I'm so confused.

She was my Dad's wife (he passed 8 years ago) and I need to do what is right. Her kids are with her.
