Hello,

I continue to be frustrated at the slower than "wanted" progress that is occurring with my wife's condition now that she is at home. She has a G-tube that has been modified to include a J-tube. Her GI is in such a state that even the administration of water can cause vomiting.

What I have noticed is that when she is in the hospital and everything but protein slurry Jevity is given IV, she has far fewer (almost absent) incidences of nausea or vomiting. Everything seems so much more comfortable for her. Is there anyone who is providing themselves or loved-one with meds via IV at home? I would like to investigate and press this option for my wife, as she is barely tolerating her current situation now.

Are some of you in situations where you administer drugs as needed or prescribed to you loved ones w/o the presence of a professional care-giver or nurse?

Thank you!
