| Well my mom passed away yesterday afternoon at 44 years of age, from a brain tumor. I'm sure some of you probaly remember me. Anyway things just went down hill so fast, this past week. When I look at the book hospice gave me yesterday I think back and seen the signs of death three months earlier. My mom got where she couldn't breathe but that was from the tumor but we all kept thinking it was her lungs, but she had a chest x-ray like 2 weeks ago and it was clear. My mom was so strong and i'm glad she went peacefully and not gasping for air. But we all could tell it was getting worser. She kept asking for more morphine, and then these past couple days she was talking out of her head a little bit. Yesterday we couldn't even wake her up, she tried to talk when she came to a lil bit, but she was so weak that she couldn't. The night before she died she was breathing so rapidly even on the morphine so I knew it was close. Plus she stopped wanting something to eat and drink. All she would want was water. She was more less in a Semi-Coma...if anyone would like to hear the gruesome end stages and what to expect. I would be happy to tell you because I wanted to know and i never knew until i saw it all happening, and plus when they finally just gave me the book. so anyway pray for me and my family. My name is Nancy Holmes and her Name is Tammy Holmes. |

Nancy, my heart goes out to you. I am so sorry that your mother died. She went down so fast! My mother died within two months of her diagnosis. She also experienced shortness of breath as one of the signs that she was dying. She just gradually slept more and more until one day she just did not wake up.
You are in my thoughts and prayers. _________________ Jim

Dearest Nancy,
i am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing.
my husband has GBM and we are just beginning the journey.
I am 52 years old and lost my mom when i was 22. It seems so surreal at the time but again with time the sad memories will change to the very best ones.
Give yourself time to grieve...and know that you are a good daughter...you were there for your mom to the end...and she will be waiting for you...
