Husband went back to work 5 weeks after surgery. Still on light duty for 3 more weeks. Still of course having incontinence problems and ED problems but the 8 week checkup the urologist said he was doing normal for that amount of time. Of course hubby isn't happy he is not further in the control of the incontenance and ED. He was hoping to be one of the few that after 6 weeks has everything back to normal.

PSA Came back undectible.
Pathology report was Gleason grade 4 + 3 = 7
Largest cancer dimension 20mm
Surgical margins: Free of Neoplasm
Closest distance between tumor and surgical margins: 1mm, left and right anterior
High-grade postatic intraepithielial neoplasia (PIN): Yes
% Gleason grade 4: 55%
% Gleason grade 5: 5%
TNM pathologic stage: pT2c N0 MX
Lymph nodes, none with metastasis, no pathologic change.
Perineural invasion: No
Seminal invasion: No
Angiolymphatic invasion: No

Bladder base: Adenocarcinoma is present but not at the inked margin
Apex: Adenocarcinoma is present but not at the inked margin.

It sounds like a good report but I am worried some about the Adenocarcinoma at the Bladder Base and the Apex. Follow ups right now every 3 months. Of course found out that insurance doesn't cover any of the items you need for the ED. Prescriptions or VED device. I consider it therapy to get blood flow back and so does the doctor but insurance considers it ED items.

Sounds like a successful surgery. I'm sure the doctor will keep close tabs on your husband for a while.
Best wishes.
