|

Hello,
My father who is suffering from NSCLC had a followup cat scan today. I asked for the CT and they gave me a cd that runs a Centricity Dicom Viewer. I can't make any sense of the images! If anyone has some experience at this I could host the images on my website and let you take a look. Our doctor's appointment is not till next Thursday and well I hate to wait on stuff like this! Thanks! |

| I have my mom's images on a cd - but I could never tell what they meant. I did get a report with her images, that while I couldn't understand the medical language, I was able to make some sense of the report. Did you get a report? Did they give you a copy of the viewer as well? |

Yes they gave me the viewer, no to the report. They said the report takes a few days. We normally get the report when we vist our doctor the next week. I was just hoping someone out there could give me a heads up before the doctor's visit.
Thanks! |

Hey Dewey,
They say the report will take a couple of days, but it is usually done by the next day if the radiologists are not too too busy. I would suggest calling the hospital in the morning and ask if the report is done, of course you will probably have to have consent to obtain it and may even have to sign. Last time I tried to get a report I had to personally go to the hospital and show a picture id.... Most larger hospitals are on computers so the medical records department is who you would want to talk to and they can see if the report has been dictated by the radiologist yet. Believe me I know the wait is unbearable...... Good luck. Keep us posted _________________ mommysgirl

Hi Dewey,
Never read a cd either (only got it one time -- all my husband's 3 mo. tests were PET scans.) Only got the reports from the oncologist after a few days. They either called or the reports coincided with a visit to the office. Then you can get hard copies. We used to go to a testing center, not in a hospital and they won't give the written reports to the patient before the Doctor. Just their particular protocol. (I begged & pleaded to know, but no dice.) I know the wait is horrible, but that's what makes this such a roller coaster ride.
Best of luck,

Thanks mommysgirl! Your tip worked. I called this morning and the report was done and I was able to pick it up.
Good news everything is still shrinking! The mass in his lung is down to 1.3 cm in diameter now and nothing new has shown up! Dad has also been improving the past few days since we took him off the Keppra. Thanks for everyone's help! |
