I have breast cancer. I've been to two doctors and they both were reassuring about my chances of survival. I have read that you are support to put thngs at the bottom of the page about your condition, so I will have to read that again and start doing that with my in my posts. I'm just new to the forum and haven't done that.

Thanks for you reply, and I hope that you are doing well.

Cindy, I am very sorry about your cancer. Have you actually had a biopsy done to determine what try of breast cancer it is? Here is a link that will give you some help in terms of information you should get in order to understand your treatment and your prognosis.

I've had a needle biospy that showed a hormone driven cancer in my right breast. Now I'm going to MRI and surgery. Although I'm 58, I look much younger and care about how my body looks. Plus I have panic attacks, so I'm having a lot of them even with medication to control them. I'm not sleep well and crying a lot. But as I said, I've had two opinions and both of the drs. were reassuring about how it is in it's early stage. There are so many decisions to make, and I can't even think straight.

Hi, Cyndi - I do so recognise the panic attack problem! However, I have to say, once I knew that they were panic attacks, I could set about controlling them and they went away.

It is one of the most difficult parts of being told that you have cancer - the feeling that you have lost control. I think most people I know have felt this way, and a good oncology team will do its best to make sure the patient can feel some control over their life.

You have had a good early diagnosis and the chances are excellent. Many of us have been around for a VERY long time since diagnosis.
