I am at a loss. My dad was diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive prostate cancer. His PSA is that of a health Man but he has Stage 4 Gleason score 10 cancer. It is in the seminal vesicles, bladder and the tumor is huge and is pressing up against his rectum. He has a colostomy bag and 2 tubes, one from each kidney, coming out of his back draining into bags. He is always tired and hasnt left the house in months. The only time he left was to go to Radiation treatment and right back. We have been told he is terminal but I dont want him to suffer. Has anyone ever heard of this? If so do you know what we can expect? Confused

KB4myDad, state 4 with Gleason score of 10 is as bad as it can get Sad. I am very sorry about your father's cancer. I know that he is terminal but I cannot tell you how long he still has to live. If he does not get aggressive treatment, it might not be more than months or weeks rather than years.

You and your father are in my thoughts and prayers.

Like brainman, I'm sorry to hear about your situation, but I don't have any predictions for you. My heart goes out to you.

I am hoping that your dad will have excellent palliative care, and that you'll have a chance to spend some good time with him, share some memories and enjoy a shared laugh or two.

Best wishes.

Thank you for your prayers. We are currently waiting to hear if the radiation treatment had any effects on the tumor. It doesnt seem very likely since my Dad is pretty much the same. It is extremely frustrating he is too young for this, it doesnt seem fair. Thank you for your kind words.

I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. My father has been fighting prostate cancer for the past 16! years. After surgery the doctors told him he had about 8 to 10 years. Please never give up hope. My fathers cancer is in an advanced stage now where it spread to vital organs, like liver and lymphnodes and he is still fighting it. After the last Chemotherapy doctors told us there is no hope. But one doctor told my mothers there is always a little bit of hope and hang on to that. Spend as much time with your Dad as you can and tell him to always be positive. This is why my Dad is still alive today and he wont give up that easy. You and your Dad are in my prayer, keep on fighting this terrible disease.....
