**I** usually delete posts like this since I have already posted to the Pancreatic Cancer Forum, but I will make an exception for myself in this case and I hope you will be understanding and tolerant.
I just read the tragic news that Luciano Pavarotti died Thursday in his home town of Modena, Italy of Pancreatic Cancer. As some of you know, this is a very painful loss for me personally not only because I am a lover of Opera and Pavarotti specifically but also because my father was one of his biggest fans. My father died September 9, 2006 so this is a very sad reminder of my loss. My father was a baritone and I am sure the two of them are singing beautiful music in heaven right now. I am crying tears of great grief and loss.

Hi Jim, I'm with you - I HATE CANCER TOO... What a beautiful thought though, of your great Dad and the great Pavarotti singing together up there in the heavens. Did you inherit your fathers talent for singing?? We might have to put voice mode on these forums : : singing with you and them........ Jen. |

Brainman, Thinking of you.
GRIEF IS LIKE A RIVER
My grief is like a river,
I have to let it flow,
but I myself determine
just where the banks will go.
Some days the current takes me
in waves of guilt and pain,
but there are always quiet pools
where I can rest again.
I crash on rocks of anger;
my faith seems faint indeed,
but there are other swimmers
who know that what I need
Are loving hands to hold me
when the waters are too swift,
and someone kind to listen
when I just seem to drift.
Grief's river is a process
of relinquishing the past.
By swimming in hope's channels,
I'll reach the shore at last. |
