Hi Sitak, I am sorry that your boyfriend is having difficulty letting you into this part of his life. I am REALLY sorry that he has cancer.

I know very little about testicular cancer. There are only a few cancers that can be detected by a blood test. I am just wondering what tests he has had?

If there is a tumor marker for testicular cancer, it can be used to gage the effectiveness of chemotherapy. It is not unusual not to be able to find the exact location of cancers once they have spread. Of course, it would be good if the doctors could locate it and remove it. However, he would still probably need chemotherapy.

Since I do not know much about testicular cancer, I have no idea about the possible side effects of the chemotherapy. I don't even know what chemotherapy agent he will be talking. Unfortunately, you cannot obtain that information from his doctor and he is shutting you out of his life at this time. My heart goes out to you. It sounds like you are a very loving and caring person. I will keep you and your boyfriend in my prayers and thoughts.
