I saw my gyno about 6 weeks ago and he did an transvaginal ultrasound in his office and said I had 2 cyst on each ovary. One measured 4.7cm and the other measured 3cm. I have had cyst all of my life but here lately the cyst will get huge and then dissolve. I go back in 2 weeks to see the Dr. I started my period about a month ago and have been bleeding for an entire month. Sometime days it is light and other days it is heavy but usllay I have pain with it. I had a pelvic CT back in Feb 07 and it said I had functional cyst back then. Could these cyst be making me bleed for a month? I don't go back to see my Dr for another 2 weeks. I am so scared I have ovarian cancer and that the Dr may have missed it. I have had ovar 10 ultrasounds in the last 18 months and 2 CT's in the past year and nothng has showed up except for the cysts. I also have prediabetes which isnt helping me as far as strength goes. What could be causingme to bleed for so long?

Hi,

Has he done a biopsy on the "cysts"?

Don't hesistate to call and get in to see him sooner with the problems you're having. You don't have to wait the 2 weeks and be miserable, along with scared.

Please let us know what happens. Also, never hesitate to get a 2nd opinion!!!

Hi there

Actually I have had these cyst before and they dissolved but only to come back again and grow even bigger. I have actually saw 3 different doctors over this and the only thing they ever do is the pelvic exam and then put me on birth control pills. I guess they aren't concerned because of the cyst going away and coming back again. They aren't tellingme why I am getting these cysts. The birth control pills make my heart race very fast so I can't really take them. I do have an appointment with a University teaching hospital in 2 weeks. I hope they can get to the bottom of things for me. Thanks for the warm welcome and I will for sure keep you posted. I do have a Dr appointment tomorrow but it's for my rheumatology. I don't think the Rheumatologist could help me with my periods Smile)) God bless

Hi,
With them going away and coming back, it does sound like a cyst vs. cancer. From what I understand, if they aspirate a cyst and it comes back, they usually have to remove it, so the part where it starts growing from isn't there anymore. The 3+cm is a good size cyst and I would think it would cause you problems.

Best wishes and I'll be waiting to hear what you find out. Hopefully this one can do something so you don't have to keep having problems and going through all those tests!!!!
