Hi Leonna, I have had brain cancer twice. I know of cases where headaches where involved. However, I know of many more cases where the individual never felt any headache. I never had a headache.
The fact that you live in the UK makes things a little harder for me to advise you. Here is the USA, MRI results are ready that very day. It might take a few days for the doctor's office to get a copy, but certainly not three weeks!!!
One thing I have learned that might bring you some peace is that the sooner the doctor calls, the more likely the "whatever" is serious. If it is cancer, you will hear about it very soon so that treatment can begin without delay. If it is not life threatening, the doctors are not in a rush to see you. I personally don't think that is the way it should be. However, that has been my experience.
Don't wait for three weeks... call then every week. That will at least let them know that you are still concerned.
Also, there are many other less life threatening causes that could cause you to have headaches other than cancer.
Keep us informed and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. _________________ Jim

HEllo Leonna - This may be be a relief, it may not - but if anything unpleasant showed on the scan, the services generally kick in very fast.
You said you had other symptoms as well as your headaches - what are these symptoms? |

The other symptoms are my pupils are sometimes different sizes,it only started a month or so ago, sometimes i just wake up and they are different, the only way i can get them to be the same size is to look in direct light..also,i get neck aches,my ears feel full and i get like crackling and buzzing in them....and my eyes feel very odd at times...also my neurologist said something about the disk at the back of one of my eyes looks a bit pressured or something??
I did go to the opticians as i did hope i just might need glasses, but she says my eyesight is perfect..

In the US a preliminary read is usually done in 24hrs with a final report in 2-3 days. The UK will likely take longer, but be patient as worrying won't help the situation. Good luck. _________________ RLee, MD
