Went to the cremetorium yesterday, almost a month since i said goodbye to my dear dad. Found it very hard, i cried. Miss my dad every day and even on easier days i still get very upset.
There are times when i smile when i think of the good times though!
I definetly feel his pressance...this i would say, if not making me religious, has made me think deeper in a spiritual sense.
We all, i believe, will see our loved ones again. However we must not squander our lives with misery but stay strong for the loved ones we still have with us.
Sorry for ranting, just some thoughts...my wishes to you all.x

“fatherson,” my heart breaks with yours. My father died last September. It is not easy. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Your Dad & my husband passed away about the same time I see. I lost my husband Dec 31, 06 to pancreatic & liver cancer at a pretty young age of 59. The pain is still so real....it feels like my husband took part of me along with him.

I wish you peace & time to numb the hurt you still feel & my prayers are with you.

I am not a religious person but on several occasions I have felt the presence of a dead relative or friend very strongly indeed. When my uncle died 20 years ago very suddenly and at the relatively young age of 62 when I visited his house for about a year afterwards I could feel him there. I didn't say anything to anyone because I felt rather silly but I knew I wasn't imagining it I could almost feel him trying to communicate. Almost exactly a year after his death I visited my aunt and spent the night in the house. Uncle Stan just wasn't there any more. I couldn't stop myself saying to my aunty, "I see Uncle Stan's gone."

"Oh," she replied,"you could feel him here too then. I thought it was just me going mad or my grief."

I can't explain this but I know he was there and it does give me some sort of hope that death's not the end and we may indeed be reunited with our dear dead ones in the future. I hope so because I now have a terminal prognosis with my cancer.

fatherson,

my thoughts and prayers go out to you. I lost my father in August of 2006. I felt that same hurt that you are feeling now. Even today, checking this forum, I am saddened by how much I wish he was still around and that I wasn't here reading posts about how to cope.

roses4evver,

my thoughts and prayers go out to you as well. I know my mom feels the same way you do. She was saying the same things as things progressed.
This will take some time, and it will not be easy at times. Just hearing the right song will make me tear up.

Hopefully you all have family or friends you can talk to. I know that helped in my situation. In fact, we have grown a lot closer to our extended family as a result. Also know that you have this forum , even myself, if you need to talk.

Sincerely,
Steve Zachara

You're in my thoughts and prayers. You will get through this and it's very courageous of you to post your deepest feelings.

I really feel your sentiments. I'm very close with my dad and I really can't imagine life without him and my mom. I hope I could be as strong as you are when that inevitable time comes. God bless!
