My daughter (41 yrs.) has recently been treated w/radiation for cervical cancer. She seems to be quite frail & now has lobar pneumonia which does not seem to be responding to the various antibiotics. It's probably viral, and she is very sick. Could her resistance be down severely because of the radiation which would enable her to contract this illness easier than if she was healthy? I am so worried about her.

Thank you for your help...

Sincerely,
Annette Roeckers

Hi

Thanks for your post. Having cancer and receiving radiation does affect your immunity. She is certainly more prone to development of infections. Even with the best antibiotics, the immunity has to be present to be able to get rid of the infection.

I hope she does well.

regards,
Leo
