Hello, here's the deal. I've been having digestive problems (gas, acid, some pain, poorly digested stools), sometimes feeling like food is hard to swallow and a pressure/pain in my upper back between the shoulder blades.

At first I was worried that it would be a problem with my pancreas, then i thought maybe my small intestines. But now after reading up on this stuff i feel my symptoms are very similar to that of esophagus or stomach cancer.

I just had my CT scan results which the results were ok. Bloodwork and stool tests both came out ok. I also just had a upper gastro endoscopy done which then i asked the doctor if he had seen anything irregular. Doctor told me that it looked ok and didn't see anything weird. He mentioned that he took a few samples within my stomach/esophagus for routine biopsy purposes.

My question and concern is would a doctor need a biopsy if things looked normal? Or could the doctor not be telling me everything? I personally don't think doctors hold back on patients if they had seen any abnormalities. However I'm still at unease. Also can a CT be an accurate diagnosis for esophagus cancer? Please, if someone could help these doubts i would really really appreciate.

I am sorry you are having these worries. The symptoms you describe could point to other things than cancer. I hope the doctor is being really efficient and covering all possible aspects, and that the biopsy is part of his plan to confirm a positive diagnosis.

Please keep us informed.
