my mom just got an annual monagram...and they said that they see some usualness in her left breast. they asked her to get another monagram on the 26th. we think that the cancer (if there is cancer) is in it;s early stage. she says that she can't feel it during self examanations. she;s fairly healthy but she does have high cholestrol. i;m wondering what;s gonna happen from now on. treatments, and maybe surgery?

Firstly it may not be cancer.

Secondly, if there is a lump they will assess it and probably do a lumpectomy to remove it, followed by a biopsy to establish whether there is cancer or not. If there is cancer, then they will offer radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy to make sure any cancerous cells have been destroyed. If there is no sign of cancer, then she will need no further treatment.

I hope the second mammogram shows that it is only a cyst.
