Hello everyone,

I just wanted to say hello and that it is great that this forum exists for cancer patients and their family/friends.

Although I've taken a good deal of comfort out of this site, I am still struggling...my close friend was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma (Stage 1 or 2) late last year and has been treating with chemo and soon on to radiation. The good news is the docs are fairly optomistic about his prognosis, so that should be all the comfort I need right?

Well...I've settled into this pattern of rotating emotions such as:
1. feeling bad for him cause of the cancer itself and chemo side-effects, 2. feeling glad that Hodgkin's, in many cases, can be treated with chemo, 3. worrying about relapse possibilities,
4. not worrying about relapse,
5. not accepting that he has cancer,
6. re-accepting the fact he has cancer, etc...

It seems like when I'm having a good day, everything above and other emotions are bearable, but when a bad day comes along, my mind hangs on every little negative vibe.

I'm just trying to get to where my mind and emotions are evened out as much as possible, but maybe that is asking too much with such a difficult situation like cancer! I myself had skin cancer and radiation treatments about 2 years ago and remember my friends and family being very concerned, but I wasn't as much. Maybe it's different when you're the one going through it versus being a close friend or family member watching someone endure treatment.

Thanks for any feedback!
