Hi. I'm new. I just found out about 5 days ago that my dad has Lymphoma. He started chemo therapy today. I don't have a lot of info to go on because my parents have chosen to "protect" us from any bad news.
I'm wondering, if my dad's treatment is to have chemo over a 5 day period every 6 weeks for the next 6 months, can anyone gander how serious his Lymphoma is?
Don't worry, I'm expecting the worst (as in, he may not be with us in 3 months), but I'm wondering about the success rate of chemo, and if his "schedule" for it seems to be a schedule that is dire or one that is normal.
Thanks for any info.
FYI, my dad is 73 years old.

Just found out the following, "Dad's cancer is Mantle Cell Lymphona of the Blastic type. The cancer is in his lymph glands, bone marrow and colon. He has at least 6 months of intensive chemotherapy ahead of him. They started the first round this evening and it will be given for 24 hours a day for the next 5 days." Crying or Very sad

Router_x, I have not responded so far because I know very little about Lymphoma's. I was hoping that someone who knew more would respond. However, I do want you to know that I am thinking about you and your father every day.

At least it sounds like there is a treatment plan starting soon. I hope your father tolerates it weal. Will he need to be hospitalized for the chemo or will it be an outpatient treatment?
