Hi all!
I just found out that my father was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He is going to have radical prostatectomy and is suposed to have a good prognosis. He lives in South America and I am dreaming of bringing him to the US for his surgery. I am having a hard time trying to get an idea of the costs for a surgery like this for a self-paid patient. Is there anybody who can give me a rough estimate? I literally have *no* idea of how much this could be and want to know if it is completely out of our range. I would really appretiate it, thanks

This is VERY expensive, and prostate surgery is not really a high-end procedure, plenty of doctors in South America perform that kind of operation.

Where are you, exactly?

Let me simplify this a little for you. You get what you pay for. There are doctors in America that have absolutely mastered the art of prostate surgery, but there are tons that can just do it.

The success rate of the doctor should be the most important deciding factor in your decision, not price!!! Incontinence, nerve funtion, etc.

You're not buying a car, this is your body!
